TODAY IS A GIFT!!!
How are you all doing? As much as I love to write more often, sometimes I get carried away with life. With everything getting back to our new normal, I might not be able to write more often, but I would like to thank each and everyone who has stuck with me since the very beginning and the support you've given me.
Last few months as I had some extra time with me, I got a chance to think about many things in life, which I never had the time to do before. One thing I realized is that I tempt to live in the past rather than in the moment. Okay let me explain. I find my self stuck in past memories more often than enjoying what I have now. For an example, I think about great conversations I had with my Mother, when I could have more conversations with my Father while I still can. I don't know who else is feeling like that, but I think I'm not alone in this.
As much as its good to think about those memories and sometimes re-live in those, its very important to live in the present and enjoy every moment now. Living in the past might steal some opportunities that you get to enjoy in the present. One specific occasion where I choose to live in the past is when I want to avoid dealing with issues I have now; as it's much easier to reminisce those times where I was carefree and had the time of my life when my mom was here doing everything for me than dealing with cooking, cleaning, running a house while doing my studies. Sometimes I live in those past memories because I'm too afraid to think about the future. At least if I think about the past, I know what happened there and it's very predictable.
I could go on and on about facts why we sometimes choose to live in the past but not in the present and what make us do it. Sometimes we get caught up with life and forget about what we should do in order to enjoy the PRESENT. Remembering happy things that happened in the past will bring back joy but often going back there and living in the past is not doing anyone any good. As much as it's important to remember those memories you have, it's very important to make new memories with people you have NOW and enjoy every moment NOW. Don't let those old memories keep you from making new memories now and in the future. If you don't put any effort into making new memories today, you won't have any memories left of today for you to reminisce about it tomorrow. I hope I made some sense in this.
I'm gonna finish this with old adage,
"YESTERDAY IS HISTORY, TOMORROW IS A MYSTERY, TODAY IS A GIFT; THAT'S WHY THEY CALL IT THE PRESENT!"
Thank you all so much for stopping by!!
